Not as much a blog as an online baby book for jotting down notes, milestones, and documenting all the wonderful stories of Sierra before we forget them! - for her to enjoy when she grows up and for us to look back on the memories in the future. Note that this blog is not publicly searchable, so please do not share the link. I may end up password protecting it at some point.

Starting to catch up
It was a terrible winter of being sick and lack of sleep, so I have not had time to write much.
A few things off the top of my head...
Last Thursday, Sierra saw Dr. Sonneman and was very conversational. Dr. Sonneman asked at one point, "What did you do to turn out so beautiful?" Sierra thought and replied, "I came out like this." And we all laughed. When we left, Dr. Sonneman said Sierra is very astute.
Sierra likes to say "I very very very like this" or "I very love this" when she likes something a lot (often it is food, like chocolate!)
She likes chocolate now!
Saturday, we saw Jaden who ran all over the place. Sierra kept trying to converse with him, but he kept running everywhere. He wasn't that verbal, but we later realized that it's probably bc he mostly speaks Chinese.
Sierra woke up today and the first thing she said was "Today is Passover." She insisted on making a "seder plate" and was so excited to help make matzo balls, farfel, and charoset. She told me that "Last night daddy wanted to make farfel because he said today is Passover." She loves cooking and helping in the kitchen (or anywhere). We're going to have a Passover dinner tonight.
We saw an ENT, Dr. Brew, who confirmed our suspicions that she has enlarged adenoids. She looked down Sierra's throat, and Sierra was such a good girl. I brought in a recording of Sierra's sleep apnea.
Her adenoids become enlarged after she has a cold, and last long after the cold symptoms are gone. This time it's been 6 weeks and counting, but they are finally getting a little better. This is her 4th episode. She had 1 episode after a cold this winter, in November after the move. It was only 2-3 weeks long.
She had 1 episode last winter (Sept-Dec 2011) and 1 episode in May 2012, that was 1 month or less.
They cause her breathing difficulty at night (and during the worst periods, sleep apnea - holding her breath and then gasping for air), tossing and turning. The first part of the night is not as bad as the second half of the night. Then she wakes up really early. This time, she's been napping very long - 2 hours or so. This is long for her.
