Not as much a blog as an online baby book for jotting down notes, milestones, and documenting all the wonderful stories of Sierra before we forget them! - for her to enjoy when she grows up and for us to look back on the memories in the future. Note that this blog is not publicly searchable, so please do not share the link. I may end up password protecting it at some point.

Christmas lunch with Jaden
We haven't been to Jaden's in a long time, I think since that fateful night when she got hives from eating shrimp in the jiaozi in Oct. 2012.
Anyway, this time, we left and she said she was tired. She fell asleep on the way home (unusual) and had a fever when she woke up. We managed to get a does of Tylenol in, but that took half an hour of crying and pinning her down, as usual. That night she threw up all over the bed just as we were getting her animals ready. That night she was feverish all night. The next day (26th) and today (27th) she seems ok. Gran came 25th night to help take care of her. Thank goodness because the throw up was everywhere and she wanted someone to hold her while the others cleaned. That night I hardly slept since she kept pulling my hair all night. Which is all manageable except I also have been feeling like coming down with something.
Food poisoning from something?

Christmas at Jaden's
This is before S got sick. They are excited about the cake we brought over (Yule Log) for Christmas/Jaden's b-day. Unknown to us, it was coffee flavored! Blech! Sierra didn't even want to try it.

Millie
At Whisman Park. Sierra saw Millie (age 6) and a 3 year old girl. She said she wanted to play with Millie. She did not want to play with the 3 year old. Sierra had a blast.
Sierra always wants to play with the older kids. I guess they are older and know how to interact and play more. The younger kids are just developing that.

She woke up at 5:45am
On the car ride:
S: "I can't sleep with Christmas songs. It's too loud (she means it's too lively). I want other songs."
S: "I can't sleep with Christmas songs. It's too loud (she means it's too lively). I want other songs."
Gran: How about "yesterday"?
S: "Yes"
So Gran picked up Annie (oops).
S: "No, that's Annie"
Then Gran got the Beatles lullaby CD
S: "Yes, that's it."
Gran puts it in.
S: "Why didn't it start?" ( Impatient for the song she wants, as usual.)
"Yesterday" starts. Then she fell asleep.
At a park in Beijing (actually Del Medio Park)
There was a huge group of Chinese elderly doing exercises with music. Plus the park with packed with fobby Chinese kids.

She really just doesn't sleep much
Sierra has always slept about 1-2 hours less than the norm. Currently, she should be sleeping 11 hours in a 24 hour period. She gets about 10 usually. Recently, she has been falling asleep around 7:30-8pm and getting up around 5:30-6:30am. And it's PITCH BLACK outside. So my theory that the morning light woke her up is not true. She simply does not sleep that many hours. She gets this from Josh's genetics.
SHE made a gingerbread house
She made this over several days starting Dec. 4. Holding up pretty well, though some candy has fallen off the back.
Documenting
Sierra still falls asleep with someone (me usually) lying next to her while she chatters away and then falls asleep. She still pulls my hair to comfort herself back to sleep.

Coyote Point
We went to Coyote Point today. She said she wanted to go to the purple dragon playground earlier this week, so we went there and then for a picnic and walk along the bay. Josh started skipping rocks after the picnic and she got up and threw lots of rocks in the water too. She loved this and could have kept going for who knows how long.
Her oatmeal toppings these days
walnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, and Japanese seaweed sprinkles with sesame seeds. If you miss anything, she will make it known.
The oatmeal is a mix of oatmeal, quinoa flakes, and ground flaxseed.
SHE's on a hike (before she fell)
We had this idea to go on a hike in Los Altos Hills (now that I had obtained the trail map) after lunch but it was 3pm by the time we started and the girl was tired and cranky. And then she tripped and scraped her lower arm. Hmm. Plan aborted. We went home and watched TV (the annoying Caillou show that she enjoys and I discourage her from watching).
